What is the operation's approximate cost? I would also like to know the approximate cost of a Tummy Tuck operation?

Q: I've been married for one year, having regular sex and until now I did not get pregnant. My husband did a semen test and it was too low. I am thinking of doing I.U.I or IVF.  Are these procedures available at the hospital? How much does each one cost?

A: IUI is available. As for IVF, a-state- of- the-art Center headed by a professor in the field and equipped with a lab and Embryologist are available. Since its opening, many successful procedures have been performed.

Q: 1. I am undergoing treatment for Hypertension and taking medications, do I have to take them for life? 2. I used to weigh 92 kg. I have reduced my food intake and went on a regular walk program everyday for 40 mints. My weight was then reduced to 78 kg. Will I have to continue my daily walk? 3. Is consumption of corn flour advisable for hypertension patients?
4. Any advise to reduce my blood pressure? 5. Does Consumption of alcohol once a week affect my Hypertension?

A: Blood pressure all the time should be < 140/90mmHg. If you reduce your weight, the reduction of weight can help in reducing the blood pressure as well as doing regular exercises. Decreasing the salt in diet is important in 50% of the patients to reduce the BP. As for alcohol, it contains high calories and will make the weight reduction more difficult.

Q: I have scared tissues on the voice box after being burned. I also have a trachea which comes back in few months after laser surgery. I am interested in removing the trachea and regaining my voice back.

A: In CO laser therapy for laryngeal or some time in tracheal lesion e.g. polyp, stenosis…etc, the end tracheal tube should be avoided, otherwise it will cause ignition of the tube. The laser-ignited airway explosion is a shocking emergency technique, which is available for the prevention of an airway fire and minimizing the risk, but it is not applicable in all circumstances. The severity of the patient's injury depends on the duration and intensity of the burn. Prompt, appropriate management is facilitated if the operating team has previously discussed this potential disaster. The distal airway burn produced by an ignited endotracheal tube differs from an inhalation burn in character and severity. The anatomic and respiratory effects occurring subsequent to the laser-induced burn are examined. Emergency care requires immediate elimination of the fire, removal of the tube and any foreign body or debris, and usually a tracheostomy. A program of medical and endoscopic management is suggested.
