Q: Do you perform collagen injections for lines / wrinkles? If so, how long does it take? What is the procedure practiced and how long is the recovery time?  How much does it cost?

A: I inject fillers into the wrinkles or lines. I don’t use collagen but instead use other effective fillers (Restylane, New Fill - Sculptra) which don’t cause any allergic reactions. There are different fillers available depending on the type of wrinkles and the area. The cost ranges from BD 150-250. Consultation is for BD20. One may have some swelling and redness in the area injected for 24 to 48 hours post injection.

Q: Is there any treatment for uneven skin tone (my forehead & chin area are dark as compared to my cheeks, due to sunburn maybe)? I heard microdermabrasion helps? Is it true? If not, then what other treatments could be used?

A: For uneven pigmentation look for the cause and then treat. Chemical peels and some creams programs are safer than microdermabrasion. But every modality has its own effects and side effects. Sun block will definitely help you on the long run.

Q: I am considering Abdominoplasty surgery (tummy tuck) as my midsection is ruined by pregnancy. I am on a medication for high blood pressure. Can I still have such surgery, or is it too much of a risk?

A: I have a lot of patients who have raised blood pressure and who do the Abdominoplasty. I need to evaluate you to see if you are a good candidate for surgery. The cost of consultation is BD 20.

Q: Do you perform body-hair removal? Does that include bikini area for ladies? Also how painful is it?  How many treatments does it take? Is it permanent?

A: Yes we do body hair removal including bikini line. The cost varies between BD 45-60 a session (price decreases after 2 - 3 sessions) according to the density and extent of the hair removal. You need to have dark hairs and should put an anesthesia cream before the laser as it can be painful. It generally takes 8-10 session if the hairs are dark.
